Free workshops for schools & colleges


ThickSkin is offering an exclusive opportunity for teachers and students to work with members of the company in a Discover Static workshop.  During the tour of The Static the company will be offering free workshops to groups booking 10 or more tickets to see the show. 


The workshops will explore how ThickSkin approached creating The Static. Participants will gain insight into the rehearsal process and create their own material in response to creative tasks. The workshop will focus on physical theatre and devising.

Writing in the Moment for the Moment

A new writing workshop for those at the beginning of their careers as artists and playwrights. This is a full day workshop focusing on collaboration in writing and finding personal stories within a political theme. Participants should be prepared to share and discuss rough work, created in the moment.


Kieran Hurley (Beats, Rantin, Hitch) is an award-winning writer and theatre maker currently in attachment with the National Theatre of Scotland through the Pearson Playwrights Scheme. AJ Taudevin is currently an associate artist at the Tron Theatre, awardee of the Playwrights Studio Scotland New Writers Award and her play Some Other Mother premieres at the Traverse and then tours in June 2013. Both based in Glasgow, Kieran and AJ have collaborated as writers in multiple contexts, and their play Chalk Farm, which they have co-written, will be presented at the Edinburgh Fringe as part of the Made in Scotland Showcase, produced by ThickSkin.
